Were you allowed into the Interview?

Hi again,
Have any of you been allowed to be with Person during the 2nd interview, or did the police refuse to permit anyone apart from the accused and the solicitor to be present?
I am being told that the police do not allow anyone except the solicitor and the accused to attend the private consultation before the actual interview, and the interview itself.
In our case, as my Person is vulnerable, he will be granted an 'appropriate adult' by the police (appropriate adult is one who ensures he understands everything that is said, and has time to answer questions fully himself if he is required to do that), however I am hoping that I can be the 'appropriate adult' in the room, if that is the only way I can be there.
I would MUCH rather just be there in a supportive role and not have to say anything myself, but I absolutely want to be there as it would make my Person even more nervous and vulnerable if I was not.
Were any of you forbidden to be present at either the pre-interview consultation, or the interview itself?
Thanks

Hi, the appropriate adult can be anyone, they will only appoint if no-one else is nominated ie friend or family.. l attended as appropriate adult for my adult son.. Hope that helps..
Thank you dadinlimbo. I wonder if anyone has been allowed in just as a support?
I doubt you would be allowed into the interview room just for support unless you were acting as an appropriate adult. I Believe the only other individual who can be present during an interview besides the police, accused, solicitor and appropriate adult is a translator.
Thank you 26a20 for the clear info.
