Morning everyone x
Has any of my fellow parents here been triggered by the current storyline in Eastenders, last nights episode had me in tears.
Even though it's not exactly the same situation, it is a huge leap forward I hope in advocating for the parents in this horrific situation and how no matter how hard we try to protect our children/young adults and warn them of the the dangers of the internet..they are indeed profound. It also shows the complete devastation of the families and the tug of war love that we all feel, we see that child we have nutured and have loved so much not the offence.
i hope this is the start of opening up that stigmatised can of worms, that nobody wants to discuss for fear of shame and show that we are in fact victims in this too and it's such a heart wrenching path to walk. We are stronger than we think x

We have been watching it too - it's been dealt with very well I feel. Apparently there is a similar storyline in Emmerdale at the moment involving photos shared between young children.
People knock the soaps but the writers are not afraid to put their heads above the parapet from time to time to tackle these very real issues.
We can only hope that parents take note and start being more aware of the potential problems so that they can nip them in the bud before it gets to the point where police are involved.
