As far as I understand if the court have refused the extension it must go to Release Under Investigation. The police can continue to investigate the offence but all bail conditions are now unenforceable.

On what ground were they trying to extend it?

I keep seeing about the 9 month mark but just dont know what they would need to do to extend bail again.

We are a month away from this point and just do not know what to exoect.

Nine months is the point that the police can no longer extend the bail themselves and it requires the authorisation of a magistrate in order to keep a suspect on bail.

The police have to submit a request to the court to extend that bail period detailing why they feel bail needs to continue and why the investigation is still ongoing. They can also request a longer period before the next review, my partner has just had the nine month review and the court have extended the bail period to 18 months.

As with any bail review the suspect or their solicitor can put forward representations as to why the bail should end or the conditions be ammended.
