Hi everyone
Been a while since I last posted as have been trying to pick up the pieces of my life and get used to a new normal.
has anyone else been following the progression of the sentencing bill through parliament? I am so glad they are recognising they need to recognise individual behaviour rather than just look at the crime. My husband is a model prisoner but is shocked how little repercussions there are for drugs and rule breaking where he is. He feels like he is in the minority in trying to follow the rules. Their punish everyone for for a single persons mistake attitude but not recognise the individual for behaving is really messing with his ASD.
Anyway, just relieved the bill seems to be passing through fairly seamlessly and is on target to becoming law by the end of the year meaning my husband will get out next year instead of 2027. Will glad to have him home even with the extra post release provisions.
How does everyone else feel about the proposed change to release from 50 to 33% (for offenders with less than 4 years)?
