Anybody apply to have the case dealt with out of area? And was it approved?

Just trying to explore every possibility in the hope of keeping it away from our family doorstep ????

From what I've read the threshold for keeping it out of the media is high, so isn't often granted, and that if you do apply then the media are informed that an application went in, which of course then only raises interest.

I think it is so so wrong that these cases are reported without any consideration for how it effects people, not even the perpetrator as such, but for the families, for the wives and kids. We're going through enough already coming to terms with being blindsided by what our OH's have been doing, not to mention then having to deal with SS, the constant worry about the future, impact on finances etc, etc, it feels so unfair that we then have to worry about it being made public and the potential repercussions of that!!

Our person is being sentenced in his old home town and now lives many miles away near us, but in these days of the internet I'm not convinced it won't be in our local media. I expect it lessens the chance but still not impossible.

I would feel happier if his address wasn't public property as at least then it would be harder for anyone to target him at his home, and like all of us that is a big fear of mine - and as his children now live here with us it could impact them if specifically on local news websites as our surname isn't all that common.

I don't understand why an addess needs to be published anyway if the offences are all online as how is that in the public's interest?!
