anyway....any advice on what we should expect?

the hive font of knkwledge is realty appreciated as my child wishes they were dead right now and they're really worrying me.

Hi Momma, I'm guessing your son's court appearance tomorrow is his plea hearing. When my son had to attend court for his plea hearing he was asked to attend 45 minutes before the hearing to meet with his solicitor to go through his case. This was because the solicitor hadn't received the paperwork from the CPS beforehand so hadn't been able to go through it.

After going through the routine searches at the entrance to the courts we were signposted to the waiting room. My sons solicitor took him into a room to go through the evidence and outline the options of his plea to him. His solicitor explained that if he decided to plead guilty he might receive sentence he could serve in the community, if he pleaded not guilty the case would go to try and if found guilty he'd be sent to prison. He'd been open with the police during his arrest and had admitted his offence from the very beginning so despite there being some parts of the evidence that weren't true he pleaded guilty.

Once the solicitor was ready and the paperwork signed my son was called into the court. I remained in the waiting room which was my sons choice. In the court the prosecution read out the evidence and my son gave his plea. The case was then referred to crown court and the date set for 4 weeks time. My son was informed that he had to go to the police station within 3 days to sign the SOR. The plea hearing itself took about 20 minutes.

It's a very difficult day but sadly something our people have to go through to get to the other side of sentencing. I'll be keeping both you and your son in my thoughts and sending you both strength and comfort.

My son is the same age as yours. After everything that has happened, I hope you and your son have managed to get through today okay.

Court date was yesterday and scary to say the least.

my son didn't want me to go in so I waited.

solictor was late, went through all paperwork etc. we had written letters to the judges but he didn't submit these, they outlined abuse and domestic violence in the household over the time he had offended.

he has to sign the sor tomorrow and is going alone as I can't get more time off work at the mo. there's also someone coming to visit him at hime

tbh the whole situation can do one now....it's taken so long affected all of us so negatively. Their mistakes and cancelling court have made everything 10 x worse.

I have no faith whatsoever in the justice system or the police.

I reported my son being abused by his dad but the police were too busy to come out as it was the festive period....they phoned me back weeks/months later, that was the follow up, no social services, no report to school. It feels like one rule for them and a different rule for us.

anyway...adjourned until jan when one date to meet the parole officer and a second for sentencing. His driving test is slap bank between the two dates and has been booked since august.
