Magistrates court any press coverage?
Notifications OFF
Hi have many people had any press coverage from there first appearance at magistrates court??
My son did. His case was reported on within hours of his plea hearing.
I'm afraid so, but I think this is in a minority of cases.
From personal experience; no one notices unless there is a photo.

I'm soo scared I've not even told family yet and scared its going to come out and dont know what's best to do tell them before hand incase or wait untill after so know exactly what dealing with.
So far we've had nothing - sentenced last week but not custodial - seems to only be the custodial sentences or really bad cases (I know they are all bad but ours was at the lower end) that get reported in our area. Keeping our fingers crossed it stays that way x
Yes, media coverage at magistrates and then at crown. This was for sentencing however, no reporting from the plea hearing.
No visible media at magistrates though but reported on it, at crown court the were sat near to me :(
No photo for either but that is dependent on the police force/particular police officer as to whether they give a mugshot to the press :( its all so horrible
Name, street, and town were mentioned, and unfortunately it was spread into local Facebook groups.
Really hope you're one of the lucky ones but please do be prepared.

This bit is the bit that terrifies me the most. Some of our family and friends knows, but not everyone. And im not sure theyd be understanding those that dont know. We have been lucky that everyone we have told has gone like me. I never thought in a million years that would happen. And been supportive or appeared supportive at least but its the looks after. I dont much care what people think of me but I care for my daughter and what pelple may think about me and my daughter collectively.
I don't know what the solution is sadly, hopefully there is no media coverage for your situation, you only really want to tell who you need to. Best of luck to you x
As a positive story ours was x2 communication offences. Stayed all in magistrates court. No press for either. We were lucky for the sentencing. There was press in the room but the judge wouldnt do it because he knew my OH personally so it got moved. Thank god for that because no press in the court room we were moved to!
