Hi so my son has court at end of the week and we haven't got a solicitor he had a duty solicitor at first interview then was bailed which was extended twice now he's been charged and at court we wasn't expecting it this quick!! Now I'm panicking we have no solicitor and I dont know where to start.
He has some savings but dont want to spend to much because if it comes out and he gets kicked out flat or looses job he is going to need that money plsss helps :(

The duty solicitors can represent him in court, we are using the duty solicitors as theyve been very helpful. He may be entitled to legal aid, its all to do with what you earn and im also assuming if their under 18 that would also play a part too.
Again the solicitors who represented him at interview can do a means test to see if he is eligible.

There may still be time to find a local solicitor for your sons court case. My son used a local firm and met with the solicitor prior to going into court to discuss the charges, evidence and plea hearing. The costs weren't expensive for the plea hearing.
There should be a duty solicitor at the magistrates court, who can represent him for one hearing only. That should do for the first appearence. After that he will have to pay someone.
