My divorce came through last Friday. On the one hand I feel glad that he is out of my life and that hopefully I can draw a line under it and move on. But I also felt sad - that was more than 35 years of my life. Not how I imagined my marriage would end.

But part of me doesn't to have his name. Has anyone gone back to their maiden name? How much of a pain in the arse is it to change everything. Do you need evidence of a name change for things like banks, mortgage etc?

Although my kids are adults - do I want to have a different surname to them? I'm sure they aren't bothered but it bothers me.

I'm torn about what to do. I've just miv d house and changing my address on everything seemed to take forever.

Lots of women change their name after divorce. No big deal, and not costly either. Don't overthink it :)

For what I've heard, is not that hard. Loads of phone calls but nothing mayor.

I decided not to change it because my kids (although they're not adults) and because after so many years, my maiden name doesn't feel like me anymore.
