Support for the kids / depression

Hi all
My son has been struggling the past month with no contact with his dad. He started high school this year and he's feeling overwhelmed with all the changes.
My ex had vigilantes at the house in October last year. While he was on bail I was allowed to supervised contact between him and the kids. Near the end of his bail we started thinking about working things through. Social works were informed but due to his sentencing come very soon, they didn't want to change anything at the time. He has now been sentenced at the start of October and has not been allowed any contact with the kids at all. My son is finding this very hard and is having moments of depression. The past few nights he's not wanted to really eat anything. He's been down and sad and I'm just worried and don't know where to look for support.
Social works came and send me 2 days after it was convicted and I haven't heard anything from them since.
I've reached out to the school and he's on a waiting list for counselling with them. I've also reached out to another community group nearby and he's on a waiting list with them also but that has a 6-month to 12-month waiting list.
Any advice on supporting him through this. I don't even think they're going to have the chance to seeing him at Christmas time either and I think this is going to be really hard for him.

Oh I really feel for you.
young minds are so vulnerable.
do you have anything through your work. I know my own work offer counselling sessions maybe 6 I think they told me when I enquired for your children.
it's called employees support programme or something similar.
if there's no look there search on the internet to see what's available in your area. I've heard of one called chilli pep. Not sure if they are nationwide. It's just support for young minds, young minds is another.
hooe you get sorted, sometimes they just need someone outside their circle to sound off to x

Talk to your general practitioner and see if they have a list of numbers you can go to for counseling. I suffer with depression and my GP said waiting lists for counseling the usual rout was 6 months to a year but then gave me a list of 10 sites I could go which has a mix of funded (free) and private counseling. I got seen within 3 days of making my referral for an initial assessment and had counseling a week later
