Hopefully people are coping as best they can.. been a really mixed week.. Our son passed his theory test and has had his autism assessment referral accepted... 6 month bail extended and doubt as to whether we can go to a family 18th as younger children could be present... me and my wife still trying to put things to the back of our minds... however we are still breathing.. take care all..

Hey Dad, it's good to hear from you, I was only thinking about you this week and wondering how you and your son were doing. Well done to your son on passing his theory test that's great news.

Not a bad week all things considered, moments of almost normality mixed with sudden 'remembering ' which is crushing. Hope everyone is getting by, hour by hour xx

Hi Dad, thanks for the weekend check in this week.

I often think on a Saturday as I'm doing my chores if you're doing your curry's - and what an achievement that is.

Well done to your son as well.

An ok week here. Have caught myself a few times enjoying the moment. Which it's been a while. And the children have been getting to sleep quick this week, which has meant I've had time to reflect. Which is always hard. As I like to fill my mind with busy. But maybe needed to give myself half a chance to take steps forward.

Light to all. As always.

Ashes xx

Morning, hard one this week son had his first hearing at magistrates he was absolutely petrified but we got through it now the dreaded wait to see if it makes it into the paper and the count down untill crown court which I am absolutely shi**ing myself about. Although I should really be thankful that its a step closer to the end and alot sooner then we thought as its only been 10 months since arrest.

Massive well done to your son.

Nothing can prepare you for what the dread of a court appearance and subsequent media coverage may bring . Unless anyone has been through it themselves, it is impossible to put into words. Be strong, take things as they come, one's step at a time, you will get through it - honestly, you will xx

Hi dad in limbo

congratulations on the theory test does he have his test booked?
has his bail been extended to another 6 months? My son was bailed in august then we returned beginning of nov and they revalued him till February (he will be 18 when we return by 5 days) I feel worse this time than u did last time. Is his bail not conditional to unsupervised contact? My sons is so we can go to places where under 16s are just not unsupervised!
we went out for a family meal which was lovely but none of them know what's going on so unwanted thoughts kept popping up in my brain during our evening out, I'm dreading Christmas! Let's hope this nightmare we're all going through ends soon

Hi all,

Thanks for the positive comments..

Tilly,

Trying to book his test..

Bail extended to Feb... only condition is not to engage and maintain comms with under 16's...

So we have a family birthday (18th) where cousins will be present under 16.. Been advised by police not to go.. or if he goes he has to stay in hotel... so if he goes down to the bar for a drink... what is the difference..?

Not sure with all of this... he ho

I guess if the police have advised not to go I'd follow that advice but it seems harsh, if parents and other adults are there he's hardly going to be a threat to anyone. We go back in February too let's hope February is a good month for us all!
When you have a test booked you can use an app to move the date closer and set it to look for cancellations it's really good. I'll have to ask my son what it was called something like driving test now

wishing you all a good week x
