Hi, first time poster, my person has court for plea next month, I know the charges but not much more such as dates, amount of images etc, are these read out at the plea or sentencing court date. I really don't want to attend either but feel this is the only way I'll get to hear the full details

Hi Sadtimes, I'm sorry you've found yourself joining us here but pleased you felt able to reach out.

My persons charges related to communication rather than images so I can't answer your question on number of images. A lot of the evidence in my sons case came from him when he admitted everything during his arrest. He was unclear of the exact dates so the prosecution said the offence happened between ..date and ....date. They also read out details from the case. Unfortunately if you're hearing it for the first time, some of what is said can be taking to mean something it doesn't. For example, when the media printed the story about my son they had taken what was said to mean his offending took place for the whole duration of the time frame given rather than a couple of conversations.

I'm not sure if you'll hear the full details in the plea hearing but you may hear more when your person attends for sentencing.

It will state the number of images on the charge paperwork if you want to know that beforehand.

Im not sure if they go through descriptions of photos (aka age range) at plea but they definitely will do amounts as thats on the charge sheet.
