I think they all go through a risk assessment to asset risk in the community and this will in the end place what restrictions they want added

A lot depends on where he currently is, in the process.

Once a is person is convicted, they should receive a visit from the police, within 7 days, to do what is known as an ARMS assessment. Basically a risk assessment.

This is often done on a home visit, but it can be done at the police station.

All subsequent visits from the police are technically risk assessments, because once they are on the SOR, they are monitored by the police, for at least 5 years.

If the police ask someone to come to the station for a voluntary interview, then that is different. An interview would be connected to a specfic event, that the police are investigating, rather than a general assessment of the persons risk.
