Hello..New here. Person of a family has been arrested on suspicion of 2 indecent images and bailed with no charge as of yet. Does anyone have experience of using legal aid and if so, how did you find them? Not sure they can afford a private solicitor. Many thanks
Legal aid solicitor will be the duty solicitor that attended when person was arrested. If they call the police they will be given the name and firm.
You do not have to use the duty solicitor. The law society have a list of all firms, which you can search by postcode.

My autistic son had a legal aid solicitor. Very poor communication which frazzled me out completely. I often wonder if things may have been different if we had tried to pay. No complaints with the Barrister but hindsight is a wonderful thing as far as the Solicitor went, he made it very much more stressful than it already was - good luck whatever you decide x
