Just wondering where do you even start to explain this when you meet someone new. Like people ask oh how come you are single and I usually just go for 'oh we just grew apart' or 'he cheated'. But at some point when/ if it becomes serious with someone else itll have to be explained as its part of your life... anyone got any advice?
This time last year I started seeing a lovely bloke who I had known as an acquaintance for a few years. We have a lot of mutual friends so I thought he knew why I was on my own. Turns out he didn't.
I told him some of what happened. Explained how it affected me
He didn't seem shocked. He has asked a few questions but not many. He just accepted it.
Since then he has supported me emotionally and practically as I sold the marital home and bought my new flat, helped me move etc.
I would be quite open. No point starting a relationship without being honest I think.
