Problems with Neighbours
Notifications OFFI am really struggling with our neighbor. We had our knock in August 2024, and our son immediately lost his job as the Decoys sent everything to the local Facebook group.
The local press did present the case, but agreed to delist the article once my sons SOR is complete.
Our neighbour has been putting death threats on WhatsApp, shouting swear words at our youngest child, telling visitors that our son should have been locked up and shouting nonce and paedo with his mates at least 3x a week
we have spoken to the police who said that as our son has committed the type of crime our neighbour is technically correct.
we've got cameras to protect the property and a fence but our neighbour is now hanging stuff on the fence as we can't heighten it
Due to being Autistic the abuse is affecting me more than normal and wonder what we can do
Repeatedly contact, follow, threaten, or target someone
Cause them distress, alarm, or fear
You need to log every action and word used and exact time. Once you have this the police are duty bound to take the matter seriously. Until then they will likely take the easy route which is for them to do nothing. Hope this helps.
Wishing you all the luck with it DONT give up ,this behaviour by them is illegal and NOT acceptable ,the police can't ignore it
I volunteer at the local law courts supporting witnesses and recently I was with a witness and into the room came a man who was also there for the same trial but my person knew him and knew that he had a IIOC conviction in his past and said nastily and loudly 'what's that paedo doing here?' The man heard and reported the person to his support police officer who immediately spoke to the person and said very clearly that it didn't matter if the man had in fact been found guilty of an offence involving children, it was considered a hate crime to use language like that and the person was fortunate that the man didn't want to take it any further. So what you were told is completely incorrect and as others have described, your neighbour is breaking the law and must be reported.
Good luck x
