I could just really do with a friend right now.
I'd really love to connect with someone whose person could maybe relate to mine:
6 charges - cat a,b,c
posession of iioc
most came from telegram
some ai which is what they are most concerned about but he maintains they have to either be previews or autogenerated images from the app he used while making other "unsavoury" content (a different conversation altogether which he now understands was also wrong without consent)
extreme content - also from telegram (only 1 or 2 of these)
knock was Jan 2025
charged beginning of november
pleaded not guilty end of december
ptph on tuesday (27th Jan)
struggling to afford solicitors, not entitled to legal aid. seriously considering self representation.
terrified he will go to prison basically.
my head is totally burnt out and I could just really do with talking to someone who actually understands what i am going through because when i try to talk to my closest people about it, they're sympathetic but they also look at me like my head is on upside down.

I didn't want to scroll past. My person plead guilty, so I don't have any particular advice for your scenario apart from to pay for legal representation anyway you can.
My understanding is that it will take a long while to get to trial, so you (or your person) will have time to save up.
I once represented myself in court on a civil matter where I was the plaintiff, that was terrifying enough. I suspect there is a much higher conviction rate for those who represent themselves as criminal defendants.

My husband was arrested over a year ago now for distribution of class C images. They then found common images of all categories on his phone so upped charges to pocession and distribution and found he had also shared a class B too. He pleaded guilty in court. He is currently serving a suspended sentence for 2 years.
He is awaiting an assessment from lucy faithful to determine essentially whether or not he did these crime due to porn addiction or because he is sexually attracted to children. In hopes that the outcome is be is low risk so we can finally move towards moving back under one roof. Not sure what will happen if the worst case senario happens. Im trying not to over think that bit right now.

@Sadandalone - My OH is facing similar charges and I'm also worried about prison. Hoping for suspended - most first offences seem to go that way. Please private message if you want to talk more x
