Hi guys,

I previously posted about my father being arrested for IIOC. Just for some context, he has a terminal illness and after being bailed, took an OD. We all rallied around despite having our whole life ruined and unable to even get any basic answers due to his medical situation.

Fast forward - All charges dropped, NFA, his health is horrendous and the OD sped up the process.

I am angry.... We have had the worst shock of our lives, so many unanswered questions, no apologies, nothing... He hasn't made a single effort to text, bars us going round except for one family member who is having to now shoulder this terrible burden alone. I feel offended, I know it's because he is weak and a coward, but he at least owes us something.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation? Time is inevitably running out, but like our whole lives, it's us having to try and make an effort. Angry, anxious, and feeling bleak today.

I can only imagine how awful this whole situation is for everyone involved. Can I propose that the NFA happened because there was no evidence he did whatever he was accused of? From your post, it feels like you are assuming guilt and angry he got away with it. Another way to look at it, and maybe explain some of his actions, could be that it genuinely was a mistake or a false flag and he was devastated by the effect this had on his own mental health. Not excusing any kind of behaviour, but contrary to what many on here seem to believe, NFA doesn't just mean "he did it but got away with it". His actions to not reach out could be because he is mentally still reeling from it all.
