We got the knock in July 2025. Husband wasn't arrested but all his devices seized for investigation. Since then he has had a monthly call from the police as a welfare check and to keep him updated. Today he received a call to ask him to attend his first interview on Monday (so I assume they have found something or else it would be NFA).

They have told him he will have a private meeting with a solicitor and then go in for interview with them. That they will then take everything to the CPS to decide on if there's enough to charge.

What happens at that stage? How long roughly do CPS take to make a decision on whether they're moving forward with anything? Ive never so much as set foot in a police station so I don't have a clue on any of this and just continually living this awful nightmare since July. Say CPS make the decision to charge, then what? Court date? How long does that usually take? We are West Midlands if that helps. Thanks in advance for any replies.

It took about 3 months from my husband second interview for the CPP to make their decision. After that we waited 4 weeks for plea hearing and then 4 weeks for sentencing.

Has he spoken to you about it or are you going in completely blind?
