Your feelings are completely understandable, I was in a similar situation and tried to keep everything together, my loved one was arrested last August and was bailed a couple of times. Then magistrates in January and crown court this month, 1st hearing has been done and now have to wait for probation to contact us to see if they can help with alternatives to prison.

It does feel a lonely time but please be assured your not alone in your situation there are a lot of us families around x

Hi Heartbrokenmum - we are coming up for air after my Son 26yrs (23 at time of offence) was sentenced after 3.5 yrs of hell.. He was diagnosed Autisic when he was 19. Please feel free to message me directly if you want to chat.

i too felt that I wouldn't get through it all. Even now I can't believe that I did - unbelievably traumatic. We have survived and we are trying now to pick up the pieces - and you will too ! Xx

I'm here if you need a chat my son appeared in crown last week he's 24 and has severe physical difficulties it nearly broke us and him but we made it through to the other side

they where very good at seeing he was socially isolated and took mitigating factors into account and handed him a suspended sentence and time on the register

If you need to ask anything just dm me

My advice is just breath you can't do anything for what is about to happen all you can do is support him x

I agree with all the hopefully reassuring comments above. Hope reading them helps and settles your emotions a tiny bit. It is so hard to see our children in such a place whatever the background and feeling as if our hands are tied. This is only our experience but we had a date to reappear because bail was expiring and like you got into a state and then had a call from the OIC saying not to bother coming in and it was being renewed for a further 3 months. After that we heard nothing and got the same result when our solicitor followed up and told us it had been renewed for a further 3 months, with no paperwork sent to our son at all. So unless they describe it as a voluntary interview which could be to charge (but again might be to ask more questions), then there is a chance it will only be a quick admin type meeting. That isn't cast iron as every police force seems to act differently but if possible try to not overthink it all as you might not need to at the moment. (Easier said than done, I know.)
