It's a long way off yet but has anyone gone on holidays since their partner's conviction? Xx
I just need to know I can still look forward to a life.

Yes, it's not like before when you could just go anywhere. It will depend what your partner is sentenced for and any shpo he might get. You just need to think about where you are going, you have to read the terms and conditions of the location and company before you book, we check with probation that they think it's ok. You cannot go to the usa and many other countries, you can't go to butlins, haven, eurocamp, centre parcs and most other holiday resorts like that, some hotel chains also do not allow people on the register to stay. As long as it doesn't say that they dont allow anyone on a criminal register to stay then you can go. So going on holiday needs a lot more thought now, but it is possible to go on holiday.
Thank you for your quick response. Its just so daunting. Like everything x
Out of interest do you know what hotel chains won't allow you? So far I've not found any that won't in the UK but I've not checked all of them. We're planning a hotel for this year as bail conditions ruled out going away last summer.
We were told if you wanted to do a cruise you can just ensure that it's an adults only one.

I am just scared to spend loads on a holiday then my hubby not be allowed in the country.
Certain countries will not allow registered offenders in such as Canada, America, Australia and China. UK is much easier although some places refuse entry if they are privately owned.
I have had 2 family holidays and it was great. X

Hi Sally blue where did you go on your holidays? I think I'd be bricking it on the plane, I suffer with anxiety as it is. I'd have a melt down if he go stopped a immigration.
Is an adult only hotel in Europe ok?
Does anyone have any experience of travelling abroad wit a partner who's on the register? Does he get stopped at the airport? We have family abroad and hope to travel in the summer.

My husband has been on the register for years. He was always stopped at passport control on the way back into the country. They'd only ask vague general questions like where he'd been and who he'd been with. The first time it happened I thought my heart was going to stop but now I'm used to it I always go through passport control first and leave him to it. Last year though he was stopped on the way into Spain. Which was a first. He'd just got a new passport and I guess with technological advancements they know there's a flag against his name.
It's not fun but it's not all that bad and you do kind of get used to it.

The police officer that comes to the house said a green notice will be put on the passport when we go on holiday and it doesn't tell that what you did. I have been looking and most places we want to go you dont need a visa and the travel cards you fill in dont ask about convictions.
Think I am going to crap myself when/if we ever go on holiday.

Ren,
You will be fine. Make sure you go through passport control first and busy yourself finding where your luggage is coming up freshening up in the loos or whatever. In my experience the checks are all very standard, especially if he memorises the name and address of where you are staying. Since being on the register we've been to the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Kenya, Bali, Italy and Spain. Never had any issues other than him being asked a few questions when passing through passport control. In fact pre husband and pre the invention of the ESTA I had more issues getting into the states

Oh thank you that makes me sooo much happier. I really want to go back to mexico at some point but. Xxx
Conviction isn’t the end of the world. Most probably, your inner worries and negative thoughts give rise to many doubts whether to travel or not. Life is going on and you have to live it to the fullest. Speaking about hotels, resorts, spas, motels which most probably don’t have any information about a person conviction history. Though, leaving and entry the country can be a matter of worrying. If your husband is still passing through the trial procedures, then the officers most probably won’t let him out of the country. If the trial process is done and the lawyer gives you green light for travelling abroad, then why not? In case you haven’t decide yet where to travel in Gatlinburg there is a great, quite and welcoming resort.
Can anyone tell me if they know if you can travel to Dubai with a conviction and under registration requirements?

Unlock are probably the best to check with, because the rules vary so much between countries.

At the moment Europe is ok. I've not heard of anyone being turned away. But countries in south Asia, like Thailand, Vietnam should be avoided because the police see them as high risk and they might notify the authorities, if they know you are going there.
It is still possible to get into the USA or Australia, if you are prepared to go through a very long winded visa application process.
When it comes to green notices, I would be careful, because green notices are something that will cause problems in all countries. Thankfully they are extremely rare and only issued for offenders regarded as higher risk. Green notices are not issued automatically. There should be a risk assessment done first and it is not a decision that is taken by the VISOR themselves.
There is a lot of misinformation about travel, because some people appear to have no problems anywhere and others get turned away from the same countries. Don't assume that just because another person got in, that you will have no issues and vice versa. Police themselves are often giving out misleading information, saying certain countries are not safe, but remember that they know no more than you do, about travel.
VISORs do not take decisions on travel themselves. They are not experts. It's done by a specialist department within each police force, called the International liaison team.

Sorry to jump on your post.. does anyone know if it's possible to travel to Florida whilst OH is RUI?
Being RUI effectively means you can go anywhere, as if you have no restrictions at all.
Bub Iv messaged you.
also thought I'd comment in case it helps anyone else wondering the same.
we have traveled to Florida since my husband has been on Rui and absolutely no issues at all with travelling and getting through customs.
When he was first on Rui the oic tried to tell him he couldn't go which was lies which his solicitor cleared up and confirmed he could go. So the police will probably try lie to you about it, but your innocent until proven otherwise so they cannot stop you if your Rui.

Lost for words
when My husband was Rui the oic tried to say he still has bail conditions but his solicitor wouldn't have any of that and wasn't happy, he told them he's either on bail or Rui not both. So I would maybe get your solicitor to confirm that as I'm pretty sure they can't place bail restrictions if your Rui.
as long as no charges yet then fine to travel to Florida, my husband just had an esta that we already had before he was arrested.

Hi, does anybody know where our family can go for a holiday in the uk as partner is on the sor? Haven has cancelled our booking because we told the police where we were going and they informed haven. This is the first time since the conviction that we have attempted to have a holiday so I'm not sure what to do now? Can we hire a privately owned caravan (not part of a holiday park chain like haven or parkdean) or a hotel? Any suggestions welcome! Thanks
Ia it park of the SHPO that you have to tell them all overnight stays away from home? As otherwise, if less than 7 days you don't have to inform for the SOR
It is in most large holiday park T&C's that people on the SOR can't go, so you'd have to read each individual one.
We have booked with an independent one for 5 nights and don't intend to inform as there is no requirement to for this length of time

We haven't found any sites that accept, but we've used air b&B for the past two years with no problems. My oh informs police and probation of every break even a night away it's not in his conditions but it's just something his down from the start

Hi since conviction we havnt been abroad and the thought terrifies me! Were considering going to Turkey for a week and wondered if anybody else has experience of travelling to Turkey whilst on the register? Also for anyone on the SORor my case with someone on SOR I'd appreciate your own experience of going through the airport both departing and landing especially passport control. Also any advice on countries you've been to and had a positive/negative experience.
Been to Spain and canaries twice. Absolutely no issues at all
Thank you has anyone else got any experience of flying outside the EU and within I'm so terrified it's putting me off booking for the family.
We flew to turkey with our son who is on SOR this summer and there were no issues at all
Thank you Bobbie that makes me feel a bit better as Turkey is one place we want to go.
Wonder if we will ever go to Disney Paris again.
has anyone got experience?
has anyone got experience?
We went to Disney Paris after sentencing.
We booked an Airbnb off site, and this was the info we gave to Mosovo. They were supportive of us going on holiday as a family (we have a young child). MOSOVO didn't ask what we would be doing on the holiday and we didn't tell them details. We had a brilliant time!
I was worried if we stayed on site it might flag concerns but to be honest I think I overthought this! Then again the Airbnb was lovely and much cheaper.
We drove and got the ferry and had no issues at passport control.
After the ETIAS visa comes in next spring/summer it may be more difficult as the offence may need to be declared on the application.
Before sentencing you should be fine depending on bail conditions regarding you all sleeping in the same place etc.
