Going to court
Notifications OFF
Hi all,
I have posted a few times on here so you may be familiar with my story.
Husband was arrested 9 years ago. He got 5 years on SOR and 5 years SOPO. He is now off everything. He has completed the Horizons course and done everything asked of him including counselling.
We had our first baby last week and SS have been extremely harsh with us. My husband was allowed no contact initially but once we got solicitors involved this changed to supervised contact by my parents. I am living with them and my husband goes home at night time.
We are awaiting assessments but my solicitor says this could take up to a year +. I am not able to supervise until I am assessed apparently. Their advice is that we go to court proceedings to get the assessments completed faster. I am unsure as to what to do as they said, although unlikely, they cannot 100% guarantee that our baby won't be taken into foster care. I know deep down this is unlikely as I am completely innocent in all of this and we have abided by the safety plan set out by SS. However if there is even a tiny chance, I am not sure I want to risk it.
Has anyone been through the courts and can offer some advice? What would you do?
TIA
