Can anyone tell me how much Childrens services are involved once a child goes to school. Grandparent was convicted 8 years ago but now has no restictions and is no longer on the sor. Has had no contact with grandchild for over a year.
Childrens services originally spoke to the parents when the child was born 4 years ago and closed the case but a few years ago the health visitor told them that it would stay on the childs file throughout school. Anyone have experience of this? Thanks

Hello! Without knowing anything about the specifics, it's not easy to be sure but generally speaking schools do not necessarily know anything about anything the patents don't tell them unless the child is on an active CIN, CP or CLA plan.
If the child needs to safeguarded from specific individuals, make sure school has details of the only people allowed to collect them and have details about their school progress. Ensure school knows there are concerns about safeguarding surrounding specific individuals and make sure they have a safe word set up if you are worried.
