Ss involved again?

So the knock came in August 2024. Ss were involved, both children were on a CIN which was closed in February 2025. OH was allowed to remain in the family home. We were in the process of moving. We have now moved to a new county and OH charges have come through. Ss from the new county got in touch and I very politely asked if they had reviewed the previous file. She advised she hasn't and will request it. We are more than 13 months on from when they closed our file. Even if they reopen, will there be a risk that they might want him to leave, considering we are 20 months on from the knock and have stayed together since. I am very open and honest and engaging with them again, but I worry they will try to break up our family which is already going through a very difficult time and been trying to rebuild.
We are in a similar position. Knock may 2024, social services involved and closed our case after a few weeks as husband was on bail. When husbands bail ended after 12 months, social services assessed and allowed him back home with safety plan. Fast forward to Feb this year, husband received charges, worse than we thought but now I'm worried. He's been home for this long without any problems I'm just hoping that goes in his favour. It's been almost two years and we are nearly there in terms of sentencing but I know we have such a long way to go with social services :(
I completely understand what you mean, @fearfulforfuture. I’ve found myself socially ostracised for trying to keep my family together, which has been incredibly difficult.
Our Child in Need (CIN) plan was closed in February 2025 after six months of Social Services involvement, as both children were doing well and there were no ongoing concerns. During that time, I completed a CSAFE course and we had a safety plan in place.
We moved to a different county in September 2025. Our previous Social Services team were fully aware of the move, as we had already been spending weekends in the new area with grandparents, where we intended to live until our house sold.
In July 2025, I met with both children’s schools and had open, honest discussions with the Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs). There were no restrictions in place after bail ended in November 2024. While the secondary school chose to restrict my husband from attending events, our younger child’s school allowed him to do school runs and attend meetings, provided I was present.
Two weeks ago, charges were brought, and Social Services in the new county have now become involved. We had an initial visit, but the social worker had no information about the allegations or charges and very little on file beyond a previous risk assessment. 2 of the charges have been dropped and 3rd one which is least serious is going through on 4 counts. I am not defending him, I just want to move on and get closure. She even referred to our son by the wrong name and did not spend any time speaking directly with the children.
Her approach felt unprofessional and, at times, based on assumptions. She repeatedly suggested that our previous Social Services team had closed our case because they believed my husband was moving out, which is incorrect. We have remained together since he returned home after 24 hours of the arrest. She also implied that he was still technically on bail, despite bail ending in November 2024, after which he remained under investigation.
It felt as though we were having to defend and re-explain everything from 2024 again, which has been quite triggering.
She left saying she would review the information and speak with both schools. Today, she called unexpectedly while we were away during the Easter break and insisted on seeing both of us in person, stating this could not be done over the phone or online. I offered availability for tomorrow, but she said she was unavailable and suggested it may have to wait until Monday. I followed up to say we could adjust our plans if needed, but have not received a response.
We are understandably worried. Given that our previous Social Services team completed a full risk assessment and closed our case with a safety plan in place, it is difficult to understand why this feels like starting from scratch again.
