I am going round in circles with my new partner who cannot understand why I took my personal back the first time of offending. Unfortunately he then went on to offend a second time.
I love my new partner but I can't seem to get past this big problem that he thinks will always be there with my ex looming over us. I also have children with my ex. My new partner has ADHD and is currently struggling with that amongst other health conditions.
If anyone has any advice of how to navigate these discussions I'd love to hear it please.

I thought my new partner knew what had happened to me as we have lots of mutual friends - but he didn't. He just listened and has never judged even when he knew I kept it a secret and stayed with my person for almost a year after the knock
My kids are adults which does make it easier whereas he has never been married. But it's so difficult as everyones situation is slightly different and for those on the outside - they think it's a no brainer to make the decision to leave. Wish it was
