Is it normal to be scared

Hi my lo is due out next year he's told me he's scared and anxious about coming back home to me incase the house gets smashed up when he's out is this normal and as anyone had any problems when their lo come out of prison was caught by the decoys
I suspect it's completely normal to be scared about this and on here there are people who felt like that and nothing bad happened, and others where it was awful and they had to call the police, so I can't sugarcoat it but wanted to reply to push your post up to the top again. Hopefully someone with real experience will see it and reply. I do know that the sort of people who do get nasty or mouthy also have very short attention spans and soon move on to something else.
My house was targeted before he went to prison - had things painted on the outside of the house. Whilst he was in prison I was burgled. Both events were carried out by a neighbour. Nothing from the wider community. Feeling unsafe in my own home was one of the reasons I knew I had to end my long marriage.
May I ask how do these people come to know where you live? Like how do they know there is a sex offender registered at the house? Is police informing neighbours...is it press? I'm scared as I didn't think this was a thing
demeanour - my son was 'outed' in the press, while house number wasn't in the article, name and street was. He was new to the area too so not even well known but a) he stood out as new b) just takes someone taking in a parcel etc. to know his name. It was spread on social media, car vandalised and threats to him. I don't think it helps anyone to report on all these cases that are images only
