3rd time we've reached court dates for my person. Due to start next tuesday with a pre trial hearing this Thursday.

it's been 5.5 YEARS since the knock, and as judge previously stated when it last didn't go ahead that it's longer than any sentence would likely even be, but yet NCA still insisted they wanted to go ahead.

No images ever found on any devices. Just links that may or may not have been clicked on containing possible indecent images, no evidence the links even contained what the wording stated, and also based on being clicked on in 2013. Hence charge being worded as 'attempting to make indecent images'.

just want our life back, I can't believe it's been this long and my children are still subject to a CPP, have been since they were born in 2021. (Knock happened before they were even created)

The system is just so messed up.
anyone had anything go on this long?

This is riduculous. You'd think police would make better use of their time and resources than spend 5.5 years investigating links that haven't been clicked. How on earth did this pass the public interest test to get through cps if nothing was found on devices and links are just being guessed to contain images. Surely they can't just guess the link contained images if none were found? Hope you have a good solicitor as i think this should be NFA. It's a joke of a system really so messed up.

Hi lovely,

I had hoped that because you hadn't posted in a while that this was over for you now. Hoping that it gets thrown out. Do you know if it's the same judge as before? xxx

That's all an absolute joke and your children being on CPP all that time is horrendous, how is that enabling them to experience normal life. I'm so sorry for you. I really hope it's resolved asap. Do you have confidence in your solicitor?

Thank you all for your replies. I'm glad I'm not sounding delusional about how ridiculous it all is.

Though I'd reply to you each individually, sorry if I end up just baffling. I'm so frustrated and over it, but still so stuck.

What is the public interest test? Sorry that sounds silly, I know what public interest means but can't work out what 'the test' is. I'd like to think if it's put in front of a jury next week they'll see how ridiculous it all is too. Thanks so much for replying.

unfortunately im still here, just haven't known what to even post recently, I feel like our life is just a checklist for social services and other than court questioning NCA last time about wanting to continue considering all of the things mentioned by judge and they wanted to, court then just rescheduled. I'm thinking surely if for whatever reason it doesn't go ahead next week we must have a leg to stand on to get it thrown out, but I don't trust anything anymore. Unsure of the judge yet, I assume we'll find out at the pre trial hearing Thursday, but each time so far it's been someone different.

i completely agree CPP for this long is mental, even the social worker has stated she's not ever know one for this long. I think we've been part of social services longer than she's even been qualified, which makes me laugh sometimes as they are controlling our lives. the solicitor is good but at the same time I question if they're doing enough for my OH. we have looked into others and paid to have them look into the files and one basically said they'd recommended sticking as they wouldn't be able to offer anything different.

Hi, the public interest test is something the cps do to determine if something should be passed to court or not. Based on two things:

Is there a real chance of conviction based on the gathered evidence?

Is it in the public interest to prosecute?
