Husband been unemployed now. Easily searchable offence so it's really difficult for him to find a job especially with this being his only experience. Uber has revoked his application because he disclosed the conviction.

Wondering what your partner is doing now if their work involved working with children or vulnerable people? ta x

They will need to do something else for now, like factory work, warehousing, etc, but nothing where they might come into contact with children. Can't even do building work, gardening, plumbing, if it involves going onto/into private properties, as children might be around. Uber wouldn't be an option because he might have a child passenger.

The job field is very limited. What work have people managed to do? Ideas please!

My person now does warehouse work. Applied for so many jobs but turned down when had to disclose. Unemployed 6 months. Luckily found a job where they didn't ask.

Mine was college support staff. Now works in retail, though was out of work for 4 months. He's still on bail so there was no conviction to declare on his application. Praying he keeps it if/when court time comes around.

HGV driving appears to be popular, and working online depending on SHPO conditions.

My ex started warehouse work within a month of being arrested and leaving his old job. By coincidence the company he worked for (household name in a particular industry) quietly employs people with convictions etc. After a year warehousing he applied internally for an admin-type post and got it. Several years on, his case has finally got to court - his plea hearing is this month. With any luck he should be able to keep the job as it doesn't involve contact with under-18s and the company are unlikely to fire him. So I guess warehouse work with the right employer can be a stepping stone.
