Hi

my son (18) is going on a cruise booked by his girlfriends nan, she doesn't know about the situation. He's on bail just started 9 months to a year today. We might be appealing tgem if we win he will move to RUI but I'm not holding any hope of bail being dropped. No travel restrictions on his bail sheet but we've now gone into a panic with all the biometrics at the airport and getting on and off the cruise liner. We're checking with our solicitor but was wondering if anyone has travelled recently whilst on bail. Any advice very welcome

Hi. You are free to LEAVE UK as you wish whilst on bail* (if your conditions don't prohibit you from doing so, of course). It's only when charges are brought that those conditions might change. Whilst no information at this time will be shared with any countries, certain countries may rely on self-disclosure with some asking "Have you been arrested?"

Bub84 - I'm also interested in others experiences of this, if you don't mind sharing your response. Or have DM'd you as well if rather share that way. Thanks.

Our son went to Portugal recently for the weekend. He has to sign on at a Police station every Saturday. He mentioned that he had it booked when he was attending the court for charging. It was not a problem at all, they just noted it and notified the Police station he signs on at

We went to America (Disney) 6 ish weeks after my now ex's arrest. We had already applied for our Esta's before the arrest so already had those through. It was a risk he took whether or not they would pull him for a random further check but they didn't ask any questions at the other side. He did however get something on his boarding past which he was unable to check in online like the rest of us but that was just extra security checks such as looking for drugs etc right before we got on the plane which was just a coincidence as to why he was chosen out of the 9 of us going as a family.

He did have to book a hotel and spend thousands as wasn't able to stay in our villa with there being 3 children so apart from that it was all OK.
