Our situation is different but kind of similar. My husband was sentenced at the start of this year. He has no legal restrictions since sentencing with our daughter. We still live by bail conditions. Probation wanted to do their work with him first before they were happy to say yes to unsupervised contact. SS wanted an assessment to determine his risk level before theyd say yes. So if SS are in your life or come back in they will likely want a safety plan and theyd probably suggest a transition period. Our suggestion transition period is 18 weeks, which we are waiting for the go ahead for.
