My ex has just been released from a one year stint in prison. This was his second incarceration for similar crimes.
I was so very relieved on the day of sentencing that the case wouldn't be reported in the press or on the Police social media. I managed to get a sort of reporting restriction.
As my ex was being released, I googled his name to check to see if anything had appeared on social media etc. To my utter dismay, my ex's original case 8 years ago has been recycled by one of the online social media vigilante groups. This is so frustrating because I'm back to worrying that one of my neighbours will recognise him from this report as he visits me and my adult child here at home. This group has reported the entire original news article including name, age, town, photo and crimes. I feel like this will never ever leave us and doing the time for this sort of thing isn't ever enough in the public's eyes.
