Hi, I just wanted to write this as I'm feeling really anxious and panicked. My ex got arrested a year last Feb and he's still on bail.. not allowed to my address etc! I went in the loft and found a box of his things and in there I found 3 very old mobile phones. I phoned the police and handed them in straight away. Now I'm worrying that they will tell him I've handed them in. I know he can't come to the house and I haven't spoken to him since this happened but just feeling really anxious. It's making me feel poorly. I know I've done the right thing but it's just bringing it all back. If anyone could reply to this message as feeling a bit lost. Thank you ??
Did the have a search warrant or collect any devices when your person was first arrested?! If so that would probably cover these phones too. I wouldn't want phones tha could be traced back to me/my home tha potentially had something on. Handingbthese om shows that you are protective and not hiding anything. Also shows that if anything is found they can't blame it on you or anyone else's in your household. You wouldn't want anyone else getting dragged into this mess.
Hi, thank you so much for your reply. Thankfully my ex had left for work so they went and arrested him there. He had all his devices on him. They had a search warrant and took photos of every room. I just had a gut feeling to go in the loft and found the three devices in a box. I know I've done the right thing but just got worried. Said they may call me back later to make a statement. It also made me think that it could make the investigation longer. Already been 16 months and I want to try and move on. Having EMDR therapy as they showed me some photos and I can't stop thinking about them. Still panic when there is someone at the door. I appreciate your reply. Thank you X
