Hello everyone,

Just an update on forum developments in the pipeline. We are currently in talks with our website developer to add a main forum index with threads organised by topic, for example a topic for ‘Inform’ and one for ‘Children’s services’, and a search feature. So watch this space!

Additionally, thank you to everyone who participated in the ‘Ask Lucy’ session last week. We are looking to do another session in the coming weeks but possibly at a different time. Please comment below if you have any preference for times for the session.

Poster. You are one of the reasons I check in daily. Your experience and support is so important to those of us who are fairly new to this. I take your point about the posts being numbered. I don’t see any need for it. So maybe they can tweak this on the website. But please don’t let it stop you responding the way you do to help and advise us all. x

Whilst planning future developments of the website, could you include a search facility please? Someone mentioned some research by someone called Finklhor on the website, but I've been unable to find it. It would be helpful to be able to search for a word. Thank-you however, for an excellent website and the facility to be able to talk and listen to so many others in exactly the same situation. It is such a comfort to know that one is not alone, and not the only one this is happening to.

Hello everyone,

Thank you for your comments. It sounds like although improvements could be made, you are all finding the forum incredibly helpful.

We are not sure why individual post counts are visible as it was set up by our website developers, but this is definitely something we can look into. We can also look into whether we can set up notifications for users when existing topics are updated, costs permitting. As for a search facility, our technical support team is currently installing this as well as categorising each topic into overarching themes; this should make the forum easier to navigate around.

For information on the Finkelhor model, please click this link: https://get-help.stopitnow.org.uk/family-and-friends/why-do-people-access-sexual-images-of-children.

Hi Lucy

Thank-you for taking on board the idea of a search facility, and also the Finkelhor link. This forum really is a lifeline, and just such a helpful place to have available. The relief of knowing you're not the only one in this unwanted situation, is immense. Thanks again.

I think for people visiting the forum for the first time they can see the wealth of knowledge and experience on offer.

i am confused is the most recent posts at the top of the forum. I would hate to think someone has posted and it’s been lost in a thread further down the list?

people on here have been so supportive and we need to keep that up. While it’s move seeing posts from last summer we do need the most recent accessible.

I really hope they look into the forum today. We need the most recent dates down the side column. We are at serious risk of missing out support people.

the forum change has obviously attracted a few more posters but I am finding it very difficult to find the posts to respond effectively.

Dear all,

Thank you for your feedback which we are taking on board. We are continuing to develop and format the forum so that it is user-friendly and helpful.

In the short term we will be looking at simplying the topics that have been created so that you are able to find posts more easily.

Please keep continuing to give us feedback,

Thanks,
