Arrest was now 2 years ago but my child is still struggling with behaviour and emotions.
Looking for some counselling for her but NHS waiting is so long and private I can't afford. Any help out there?

Hello,
Thank you for posting on the Family and Friends Forum. We wanted to contribute to your thread as it seems you have not received a response just yet, but we hope that some of our Forum users will be able to respond to offer you some support soon. Our Forum is quite active, so occasionally posts may be missed, but we encourage you to check in frequently for a reply, as responses often come in with time.
In the meantime, if you have not already reached out, I would gently encourage you to contact our Stop It Now helpline. It is a free, confidential, and anonymous service available on 0808 1000 900. Our trained advisors are there to listen, explore your situation with you, and provide tailored support. You can find more information about the helpline and chat service, as well as our opening hours here.
We hope that someone will respond to your post soon, so that you can receive some support from our Forum users.
Take care,
The Forum Team

Hey, have SS not recommended you to anyone regarding this?
No SS said GP, GP said school or SS and school said GP so it's like no one knows the answer or knows who can help x
This angers me so much !! Im 14 days in of the atomic bomb that dropped into my life ( Brother is the offender) But my main concern is my niece and nephew and help for them. The anger that consumes me that my brother has put them in this situation is overwhelming.
Offenders get all the help in the world. Families are left to deal with it on their own. I can only comment to know you are not alone

You should be able to 're engage ss that's what I was informed. Please push for them or reach out to OFF for relevant children's help x
This is a huge problem and something that makes me so angry.
I tried to 're-engage' SS, they told me it was down to me to seek support for my children. School,GP, health visitors - all gave different sign posts. Most private child therapists won't take on children under the age of 8.
But hey at least the offenders have the Lucy faithful foundation to 'rehabilitate' and support them. Who cares about the families and children affected forever? No one apparently.

Sand tray therapy, sometimes called sandplay therapy, is for children and adults - even very young children. It involves a sand tray and a wide array of miniature objects from which the child chooses what to pick up and place somewhere in the sand tray, which builds into a story, and the therapist then helps them unpick. Very effective.
Another approach that works with children is homeopathy delivered by an experienced child homeopath-counsellor.
Ask for concessionary rates - you may be surprised at reductions some will offer.
