Housing after jail

When my son was released on licence he first went to an approved premises ( thanks to my neighbour sending in the post my sons crime and MY FULL ADDRESS to over 100 houses near my house and it hitting fb and being shared) I installed motion cameras around my house and everything calmed down eventually. He has been REFUSED by the council to be accepted for social housing as he is deemed as too high risk ( even though his crime was internet based) .He has tried to prove he is trying to rehabilitate himself ,which includes going to probation every week .Completing a probation mandatory course ,and engaging in private specialist therapy twice a month for the last 7 months ,but was refused .He can't get anywhere private because he has to declare his criminal record as well as wait for probation to ok it .
He has just been recalled for 56 days for stupidly deleting something which the police were fine about ,but probation wasn't.
MY QUESTION IS what will happen if I don't allow him back ,will he actually get housed as so far we are getting nowhere, but I don't want to make it worse for him .Any advice will be greatly appreciated x

I will be interested in the response to your post.
My son will be released after a long prison sentence and have no where to live, I desperately worry about him being forced to live on the streets. He has been told by officials this will NOT happen.
He is now a changed man - worked hard in prison to change his life and is so desperate to move on. It's all such a worry.

Seek advice from Shelter on this, in case the council is behaving unlawfully. It works differently in different areas but are you able to apply directly to housing associations where you live or is it all through a 'common housing register'? Search for your councils housing allocation policy, and look into whether he would be a 'priority need' on release from prison as per homelessness policy. Shelter will help you to fight this, good luck
Also, to add, not all private rentals ask for disclosure. My person was lucky. Keep looking, ideally in a city, large scale rentals such as possible student living areas (as would be 18+ so not risk of breaching).
That's good and assuring to hear some positivity - thankyou :)
All I want is for my son to get a decent place, feel secure, hopefully get a job and move on.

Of course you do, and it is possible, good luck to you and the original poster x
