Whats the worst possible outcome

My long distance partner was arrested last week on suspision of talking to and receiving an image of someone under 18 on an annoymous chat site in 2025. He has been honest 2 seperate conversations and being sent a picture but not sending a picture. Nothing prior or after just those 2 occasions on 2 seperate days both on the same site. Police have seized devices he was released on bail with conditions on the same day. I guess im asking whats the worst outcome if the police find only the 2 chats a picture that he veiwed maybe downloaded but didnt share.
It might be better to think about the likely outcomes, rather the worst possible.
The thing about chats is that the wording really matters, so does the age of the person he was talking to. Speaking to someone under 13 is generally considered much worse than if they are 14 to 17.
