Has anyone that separated from the offender found it ok to move on and if and when/how did you explain about your separation?

I mean I understand to wait until something serious could happen but at same time I'm a single parent what if all I meet is single parents and due to what's happened they choose not to start anything with someone that was married to an offender?
Will we live with the consequences and blame forever? I've seen social media posts of people showing their revulsion for anyone involved in these lives... it's quite frankly frightening.

I am very open and tell folk what has happened to me. I've done nothing wrong and have got nothing to hide. Nothing to be embarrassed about. Yes I've lost friends along the way - but we're they really friends in the first place?? I found it easier once I stepped away from the marriage and anyone I've been told has been sympathetic.

I also worry about this. How do we move forward and how will people accept us. I tend to be honest about it and probably say too much but my friends have been great and they do not blame me for anything.

I am not sure I will ever trust another man though. My ex kept everything a secret for th whole 15 years we were together and I didn't know anything. It's also about trusting myself too, do I trust my own judgement after not seeing what he was doing.

I also worry about how other people will react to my two boys and tar them with the same brush as their dad - assume it's like father like son.

LDElost - I have no idea how long my person was leading a double life - many years probably.

But there are good men out there. I've been lucky to meet one of them - even though I wasn't looking. But I'm wary - and that is what the knock has done to me. I love him. We have separate homes and I'm not sure I would risk every thing again and move in together. It's taken me years to rebuild my life and what I have got is now very precious

I don't elaborate. It's nobody's business. If anyone asks I let them believe he was unfaithful sexting and seeking online relationships. Technically true. I have full custody as per divorce and the judges decision. If I ever have to get into details of why there are no overnights or why access is supervised.....I say they'll have to ask him. Or "safeguarding" and then explain I don't want to go into details as I'm just trying to facilitate my childs wishes to maintain a relationship with their dad and want to move on. I'm not lying for him but also not opening myself up to any unwanted questions.
