is it possible to get a fathers parental rights taken away? It’s something that has been playing on my mind for a couple of weeks but social work keep telling me that he will be informed about meeting etc because he has parental rights but after what he has done this makes me quite angry. Am I being silly for thinking like this? If it is possible how do I go about it? Thank you x

I dont think you can have their parental right removed. If they are named on the birth certificate they have rights. The only advantage i see to this still being the case is it means that they have a finicial obligation to help provide for their children (not that that helps when they are in prison or without work because of it)

My ex was at every meeting we had but our daughter lives with me and i have full say over her. Ive been told by sw that i can dictate how much hes in her life and due to his conviction hed have to take me to court if he wants to challenge me. I dont know if any of that is useful for you?

The bit I hate is that im in the middle of divorcing my ex and will be reverting back to my maidan name as i dont want to be associated with him after this. But I want tk change my daughters surname as well but apparently I need his consent because of her age and hes named on the birth certificate. So i know that wont be happening.
