Hi everyone,

I was just wondering how long it's taking for the initial process from knock to hearing if there will be charges. Just curious how long the process is taking in different parts of the country.

Hi, we are in the north west, it's a year this week since the knock they never found anything on his phone when they looked in the home, but it has gone to forensics we weee told it will take 6-12 months! We have now been told it won't be until next year!! Utterly ridiculous for a false positive report from Twitter.

Still don't have a charging decision but we are almost 9 months in and forensics are done and case has gone to CPS, and from what I've read we're one of the lucky ones in terms of time frame. Hoping for this to be over soon. We're North East.

It will be nearly 10 months and going to magestrates next week (Wales), the wait was the worst bit and now dealing with emotions of next stage but at least we can say the end is nearer. Been through an erray of emotions and still unsure how I feel (still together atm) Living day to day is the only way to deal with everything and acknowledge you will have up and down days. Good luck

Update to my comment: he got an email today bringing his bail forward to next week so looks like charges are looming. It will be exactly 9 months to the day of the knock.

Hi Swl, he'd had his initial 3 month bail, plus two further 3 month extensions. Bail was due to end or be extended yesterday. He got an email to say they were applying to magistrates for an extension last week, to go up to the end of September, and then they emailed again the next day to say next week instead
