Good to see this ruling and a social media giant being held to account for the harms they're causing children and young people with algorithms pushing them towards explicit and harmful content and exposing them to online sexual exploitation. Many of our young people being criminalised are victims of this and have been exploited themselves, as described in the article. I really hope in time this recognition goes wider and is is reflected in the criminal justice system and how young people affected are dealt with, particularly those who are arrested around the age of 18 and are handled so brutally under the adult system.
