Challenging "catagory C"

Has anyone here had issues with challenging very low level images being catagorised as "c" images?
I don't mean nudes, topless or bikinis I mean images such as mirror selfies on Instagram or videos on tiktok of minors dancing and singing or just normal everyday images of minors gathering with friends etc but being passed as catagory C? Things you wouldn't even suspect "indecent" and probably wouldn't even get removed off Instagram even if you reported them because they wouldn't been veiwed "indecent".
Just worried for my person as he is convinced he is going to be charged based on some saved images of teen girls at their prom. It did used to be a copine scale with levels 1 to 3 being out of illegal range but now it's just three catagorys meaning levels 1 to 3 are now included as catagory C.
And if anyone did challenge images was it successful or did they still get classed as indecent and convicted? Strange to think such a innocent harmless images such as a 17 year olds prom pic will be illegal if the jury say so.
