Hello, to all the Muma bears.????
I am extremely frustrated and angry we are all in this situation.
And none of us should face this alone.
Though most of the times it feels like there is nobody to get us and help us. System is failing us and failing our kids. Where there is justice and why there is not enough measures to keep our Teeens Safd online.???
All these big companies are seeing dolar signs in their eyes. Not the impact it has on our children. Damaging their capacity to think, study, communicate in the real world. And there is rising generation of Young males in their 20 making it cool to do crazy, dangerous things. Danger is real and big online. And these big companies are not doing anything to protect kids. Instead exploit them to scroll for hours and hours.
i would write petition and go to authorities to raise the voice of this matter. But we need help, we need our voice to be heard. Does any think the same as me?
And what about us as Mums? Why is gonna take care of our Mental Health & Welness.?
Yes, of course our Motherly instincts is to protect our Babies. But why is thinking of us and protecting us? My husband passed 3 years ago . I am on my own with my son. Facing this huge thing. And there is no one to hold my hand.
there is so much so one person can can do.
Turmoil, sleeples nights, contact worries. What? If ? How? Why ? What else can I do to protect kids my Child? They say it out of our hands. Basically we are at the mercy of CPS decisions . Like they trying to break your spirit. Put themselves higher above God.
What if your child would be in this situation?
Thrt say there is justice system specifically designed for Youth. But is there? Do they really protect young people, do enough to avoid educate and protect youth online???? I don't think so. This is the crisis not only I am facing. It is many Mums in this forum. Stories I read makes me bleed for all of you.
young , bright lads, being exploited online by bad influence and glorifying wrong, nasty and unsettling behaviour. Something has to be done and changes has to be done locally, international, globally.
Look at this over 8 month, I waited for interview, now sent to CPS , may face court.
I don't know how this ll play out. I am doing everything I can to keep myself calm for my son's case. Hold it all together. God it is not easy.
I woorie them come to my house to arrest him or something ????. Scenario if it goes to court, which looks like that at the moment.
please, ???? Ladies share some positive stories, shine some light on this, anyone experienced similar scenarios went to court with their child???? Outcome
i really do not need any scary staff????
Something to keep my hope up and keep going through this darkness.
It feels like someone else Life I am living and I am watching from the sidelines.
I just want this all to stop and get my life back on track.
I haven't slept properly for months.
Thanks you

Hi Wonder Woman,
I agree with you 100 %. I really do feel that our children were victims themselves of the affects of the internet. That does not take from what they did but they were caught up in the power of the internet at a vulnerable age.
We brought our son to counselling after he admitted to feeling depressed at age 16. He was attending the counselling for a number of years. On 2 occasions the counsellor took my husband and I into a meeting with our son and told us to allow him to spend more time in his room on his own. He is a single child. We did not think this was a good idea but were made feel that we would not know what we were talking about. A few years later we get the knock on the door. The counsellor did not cause the problem but she prolonged the time he offended for. He now realises how wrong she was. The 3 of us were vicitims of a supposed professional counsellor and the internet.
I would love to say it gets easier. We are 5 years in since we got the know and our son is in court again in October for sentencing. I still cannot believe it.
You have to keep going, try and keep your child focused on something else. If it is appropriate get your child to contact Stop It Now and if and when appropriate complete a programme. My son would be completely lost without Stop It Now.
Look after yourself and try to keep going. The Gardai told us to keep living a normal life. They were right because if they had not we would have pur our lives on hold for 5 years.

Agree too. Feels like we're only just starting to understand the full depths of the dangers for our youngsters online in relation to porn (and other dark spaces) and there are more protections coming in but too late for our youngsters. My son was a victim from age 14 as well as a perpetrator. But arrested just as he turned 18 and the system for young adults is so brutal and damaging. They really are a generation that has been let down and will suffer the consequences their whole lives. At some point when we're out the other side I hope to find some strength to use our experience to lobby for change for those transitioning from youth to adult justice system. It's just so unbelievably and unnecessarily unfair for most cases at the moment.
In the meantime, on we plod one day at a time, finding strength from somewhere. Sending love and support to all walking this horrendous path with our young boys.
