Hello everyone.
Could anyone please shed light on what it's like being on a CPP please?
Husband was sentenced 4 months ago, social services completed assessments and originally said CIN but the senior person above said no that it needs to be CPP due to the nature of offense, his risk from probation is high and my 'lack' of insight because I've decided to stay with my husband. I do understand the seriousness of the offence though and have started inform course and a safeguarding course, I don't know what more I can do to show I have insight.
Before sentencing, husband was allowed to be at home on a safety plan and they closed case, I was allowed to supervise in the family home however long I wanted but that doesn't seem to matter in their eyes now. Since sentencing, husband hasn't been able to have any face to face contact with our child, only over the phone and it's been horrendous. Social worker had said to even consider face to face contact he needs to complete offence based work, probation has said the course he is required to do won't be till next year. I just don't know what to do anymore :( I thought after sentencing things should start to settle but they seem to have got so much worse.
For context, husband was sentenced to 2 years suspended sentence, 10 years SOR and SHPO with both internet restrictions and contact restrictions. He had a very harsh judge and solicitor said he was lucky the judge didn't decide on prison as they are 'cracking down' on IIOC cases.

Another story where judges take entirely different views as our person's judge specififcally made sure that the SHPO had no contact restrictions on it. This is what should happen legally with online only offences, but often gets missed. It soulnds like it's the SHPO that is causing this with social services as they will be using the restrictions there to inform their expectations now. And yes, it is ridiculously unfair and the solicitor should have challenged it for you. Maybe someone with experience of challenging an SHPO will come along and give you some advice but I'm sorry you're stuck in this nightmare now.
