In my OHs case, the phone was seized in July 25, analysis was back with the police the following April and the officer spent the next five or six weeks reviewing everything.

Phone seized September 2023 - 2nd interview May 2024, ran over the 12 month bail period - but that seemed to push things through quicker as bail extension was refused by courts, CPS report then came through (I assume at some point after that) and charged October 2024. Sentencing due to court delays March 2025. Part of the issue is many are not kept up to date by police with where things are at, and not all solicitors are made equal, so you're left in the dark and just have to soldier on! X

Our experience was faster than most. Device seized September 15th 2025, 2nd interview January 28th 2026.

We had the knock in march 2025. Still waiting.

We had the knock in November 2023. Release under investigation the following day. No further updates since.

I can't believe some of the inconsistencies in time scales.



West Yorkshire have been horrible. Knock was mid February 25 and one device taken (my OHs phone), bail extended every 3 months until February 26 when the courts lifted the restrictions. Rearrested (unnecessarily) in July 26 for further questioning before bail restrictions were put back in place. As far as his solicitor is aware, investigation is complete but still not passed to CPS because of the backlog. His solicitor advised it would be all over 'max 9 months'. That's unlikely now as CPS have a huge back log as well. I can see this ongoing for 3 years. The stupid choices people make affects far too many people!

JoLo47 - West Yorksire here too. Ive found it all really quick here. Arrest Septemeber 15th 2025, first appearance for plea 15th September 2026, its probation for PSR that were stuck at right now which im assuming will mean his court date for sentencing will be pushed back. I hope this nightmare is 'over' for you soon. The unknown has been the worst part for me
