Hi all

my son is 22, 20 at time of arrest and 18 at time of offence. He is autistic but not outwardly obviously and has also been diagnosed with chronic fatigue. He was barely leaving the house due to anxiety when he was arrested. He's been under investigation for about 18 months.

Since the original knock at 6am he has been drinking heavily and is now an alcoholic too. He remains in his room 95% of the time. Preferring his own company and avoiding sensory triggers within the wider house.

Today the solicitor called to say CPS have decided to charge. He mentioned 3 moving indecent images (cat a). My son continues to report that he does not know what the images could possibly be. Solicitor said police will be coming to the house to charge him/serve him court papers and that the initial hearing would be mid October.

So now I'm under house arrest too as I dare not leave him to deal with police on his own. I'm also fearful that once the news sinks in he will be so desperate to avoid the possibility of prison that he might harm himself. It's bloody terrifying.

has anyone else been in a similar situation?

thanks for reading x
