We had the knock at the door for my brother 3 days ago, he's 19 and they came with a search warrant and took his devices. He was released to come bike the same day and we were told they don't feel my young nephew was ever or will ever be at risk with my brother remaining at home, but of course his condition is he cannot have unsupervised contact.



My dad collected him and he was given a list of 4 charges, 2 being the same charge, and was told the criminal investigation is closed and he was given a court date for less than 4 weeks time. Is this a bad thing? I don't understand the process.



The police have recommended he receives a diversion programme to avoid conviction and this ruining his life. Is this likely to be accepted? This is his first encounter with police and he is already taking steps to prove he wants to get help.

We are trying our best to comfort him and understand him but this is an extremely difficult situation.
