So now our children know, their initial reaction was supportive but that's changed a bit over the days. Any advice on rebuilding trust?

Lost123 I've given them the helpline number and one of my daughters has contacted them. My other daughter seems to think that trying to understand why is like making excuses and I get that l. I'm just hoping as time goes on they'll come round. This whole experience is like one body blow after another.

I can feel our family slipping away and it's so sad. My husband doesn't really understand why as he keeps saying they have full and happy lives so why should this have such an impact. I think all the way along he's failed to grasp the impact this has on others and that's a struggle. It's not that he's minimising what he's done I don't think. But he's underestimated the hurt it causes.

Difficult weekend as our children told me they couldn't come to our house anymore. This goes on and on. I'm struggling to see a way through and any normal life on the other side as far as our family goes. It will never be the same and that's causing me great grief today.

I had thought getting a risk assessment would be helpful. Our solicitor seems to think we should wait for probation reports as this will include something. The liaison officer who is the contact for the SO register said like all internet offenders he is automatically categorised as medium risk. I don't think anywhere low risk is used with anyone on the register.

Perhaps after sentencing provided its a suspended sentence we'll look into an independent assessment and see if that helps them.
