August 4th 6am I received a phone call at work coming to the end of a night shift!! The NCA my husband has been arrested for online offences involving minors!!! My heart sank it was like an out of body experience. Probably the worst day of my entire life. The man id loved & trusted 100% for almost 10 years! The illusion he created was impeccable. I believed I had the best husband a wonderful life & a beautiful home. I have since found out he was having online sexual encounter's regularly with young girls some of whom are thought to be under the age of consent! The police have evidence of 2 separate occasions 2 years apart! My husband has admitted to me that he used these sites/connections regularly throughout the whole of our relationship/marriage. Absolutely devastating as I'm sure you all agree. It's been almost 2 months now since that awful day, I've more recently found out that 3 of these girls were contacting my husband via WhatsApp which means he actually gave then his personal number? Also he has sent significant amounts of money to them for their services!!! I decided very early after his arrest that I did not want to be associated with anyone like that & I applied for a divorce then I started to feel a sense of guilt & worried about his mental health I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt & a chance to explain that didn't work I can't look at him in the same way now. He denies that any of the girls were under legal age or says he wasn't aware if they were but I simply don't believe him. Police have transcripts of communication where ages have been discussed. He is a man in his 50's with grandchildren so even an 18 year old is morally wrong if not against the law. Obviously I feel betrayed & humiliated literally sick to my stomach. I left our marital home on the day he was arrested, I miss my beautiful home, my dogs the amazing life I've had but even so I need to come to terms that the man I loved & trusted has betrayed me in the worst possible way. I'm taking it day by day & it's hard so hard but I'm going to be strong & build a new life for myself, hoping one day I will feel peace & happiness once more. It's scary & I can't see the light but I will keeping going until I can.

And you will.

You are stronger than you think.

For me I've found a whole new way of life and I am happier and more content than I ever thought I would be.

The intervening years were so tough at times.

But I'm better. Not bitter.

It's fine to grieve the life you thought you had - but you will move forward. Baby steps.
