Our personal experience for the pre-sentencing probation interview was that our adult son saw a local PO in the area were he now lives, not where he was living whilst offending, and this was straight after his plea hearing (he was lucky as it didn't hold up his sentencing) but nobody else was invited although that might be different for others. He was then sent her written report and was invited to add anything or ask for corrections if necessary, by calling her. She honoured everything he asked about.

After sentencing it was Christmas which held up everything and it was a few weeks before he was put in touch with his 'regular' PO who he has seen every month for almost a year now and currently she is talking to children's services about him having unsupervised contact with his children now. He assumes she is supportive of that but until we hear that has happened I'm not assuming anything because we've had enough nasty surprises over the course of the investigation that it's made me rather cynical!!!!! Hopefully I will have to say a mental 'sorry' for doubting her in due course :)
