EDIT: I did get confirmation from the OIC that the case is closed and there will be no further action. This is great for us as we can finally move on and close that chapter of our lives but unfortunately, the fall out from my family isn't over. Even though my OH got NFA, a family member of mine is hell bent on telling other people in the family still. Not sure exactly what this achieves but I feel like I'm going back through it all again when we should be moving forward

I got an update today, after 2 years and 3 months, the devices were finally checked and the cybercrime report came back negative and the devices are being transferred to allow us to pick them up. I feel so much relief but the officer didn't explicitly specify that that would be the end of the investigation, he advised he has updated his line of enquiry but did not explicitly say that the investigation has now concluded.

should I take this as good news or is there a possibility it could still drag on/my OH could still be under investigation?

It does sound like he has got a NFA especially if they have not found anything! We are still waiting so not sure how it all works tbh.

Fingers crossed that it is all over. Good luck x

I emailed the OIC and he confirmed that the investigation is now closed at this time and there is no further action. It's finally over and we can finally close that chapter of our lives for good.

no written confirmation is sent out but I can take his email as confirmation

That's brilliant news, you must be so relieved!

My husband also got NFA but the damage was already done with his family who were told when he first got arrested. One of them still refuses to have anything to do with us and I'm pretty sure it's been spread around to other people. I spent a lot of time stressing about who else had been told and who else they still could tell now, but at the end of the day he got NFA and that's exactly what we will tell anyone if it ever gets brought up. I do believe some people just enjoy the drama.

Hope you can find some peace now and move forward with your life without this hanging over you.

You hope for a NFA decision and then it comes and it's not all over as you imagine it would be.

You have still been through the trauma of it all from the original knock. It's like all the emotions come back again for you to relive then you have friends and relatives to deal with etc..its never ending. Hopefully in times things will settle and you can all look forward rather than back.

It's difficult, I just don't understand what exactly it achieves by telling other people now about something that happened over 2 years ago that has now been given NFA and was actually a misunderstanding. You would think they would be happy it was over and the stress can finally melt away but no.

I hope in time we will find peace and can close this chapter 100%
